The brackets have been set for the 2010 Slam Dunk Challenge. One change is that all championship games, boys and girls, will take place on the final day of the tournament this year.

Didnt an AAU program from NYC take money for a tournament last year, not certified and did not return the money to the teams even though it was cancelled. YES
Didnt an AAU team from NYC show up with players at events last year with players who were not on their roster all season. I think so since I had the program in my hands and there were about five players who did not have uniforms but wore jerseys inside out. I wonder how the kids felt that were with the team from the get go and then find themselves on the bench when the coaches are there to evaluate

thats one aau program from nyc and i know that program dont lump them all together i would rather my kid play in nyc with a good aau program then play for some programs in and around westchester that u put thousands of dollars in their hands
hey if your looking for a free aau ride then by all means. just remember when you dont pay you might not play. seen many kids just sit game after game. not a good thing when your trying to catch a coachs eye.
Certain teams in Westchester are no great deal either. Some don’t attend the major tournaments and still as one of the best players manage to spend their season on the bench. Many excuses why the alternates are playing every game as you continue to lose, lose, lose. The organizations have certain tournaments they attend as a one hand washes the other. Few are showings. Then you still pay 1000.00 bucks as your kid spends their last year on the bench because their coach is a total ass building a team full of underclassman. When you travel for hrs on end to finally get to a tourn. that’s worth the time, money and effort and they play the underclassman on some kind of , I’m in charge here and I’ll do what I want. We all have stories. Coaching changes can ruin a childs life and when you get stuck with a coach that doesn’t give a crap about your child, all is lost.

Catdog, maybe the same team. lol Very disappointed thought so much of the organization but Coaches running a muck with damaging results. Many many years and much money to go out a joke.
I don’t think its the same team. Maybe the same organization. Very disheartening what my D endured. Hopefully, things will be different in 2011.

Wow that was some rain we had today….Thank god it wasn’t snow!! We would have been up to our shoulders in snow. So any interesting games this week?? Can some of you please let us know if your teams are playing games this week.

OK. Just wondering
To all of you that are putting out your rankings, I think that you are forgetting that section 1 still includes dutchess county teams. Lourdes, Arlington, John Jay, Beacon, and Poughkeepsie are all teams that would be included in any top 25 ranking. Arlington could be the suprise team of the whole section this year. They have been building a real solid program over the past few years, and I think this will be the year that they take off. And Ketcham despite losing Bri Jones returns 9 seniors to the team that was starting to come around as the season ended. Lourdes still has Teneka Whittaker and Krysta Vanacore but will miss Blaire Wegescheide who was decided to concentrate on swimming. John Jay returns A great core of players that will be lead by Carlee Hirt, Maggie Gallagher and the Rulan girl at the point. Poughkeepsie returns Elantra Means and the Perryman girl, and have an exciting coach that should put a lot of energy into the program. Beacon returns Brittani Romanelli and Carolann Delbene and have a really great group of young kids that are coming into the program. That league will be a battle every night and the teams might suffer in seeding beacause of the fact that there is no weak team in the league, but come sectional time I expect those teams to be tough outs
Not that anyone cares just yet but Mamaroneck will play Yonkers at home tomorrow at 4:15. Briarcliff scrimmage on Tues. at 3:15, go figure??? Greeley tourn. on The 9th at 4:30 and then again on Sat. I care….
