UPDATE: Earlier I said that Ossining fell to 18th in the state rankings (from 11th). Coach Dan Ricci pointed out that they were 18th last week. Turns out I missed one edition of the state rankings. It was actually a week ago that Ossining fell, not this week.

what are the sec1 championship game dates this year?
I don’t know who figures this stuff out but Monroe-Woodbury at 11?? I’m pretty sure they lost a lot of games, could be wrong but don’t think so. GG!!!!!
As far as I”m concerned these rankings don’t mean much. I believe Ossining would beat Monroe Woodbury by at least 20 pts. They just shouldn’t be there at all from what I have seen. Those teams that they play must not be very good. I also could have sworn I saw them lose to Albertus and TZ. Can’t find the scores anywhere perhaps it was a scrimmage.. Ossining still has the upper hand on Monroe also. And the article about Horne, I’ve seen her play many times and she is a really good player but have they played Mt. Vernon? Those two 6’4 wonders would put a hurting on her. Noway would she score big on them. I’d bet the farm. So whoever said no one can stop her hasn’t seen Mt. Vernon play or wouldn’t have made such a statement. Mt. Vernon is going to come back and kick some butt, mark my words.
Carmel has played Mt. Vernon and Carmel beat the Wonder twins.
These rankings are more political and a guesstimate.
Very few can be figured accurately since most teams have not played each other. Once States start it means nothing, no seeding out of section.
. In class A Marlboro-9 is listed at #18 and #23 with a record of 7-2. Not many games listed?
to runon.
How did the 2 giant wonders do against Ursiline?? just askin
Went to watch Mt. Vernon play at the Kennnedy Tournament in the Bronx yesterday (01/30/11) I couldn’t believe the number of college coaches that were there and yet very few Westchester Teams. Mt. Vernon lost big against a team that looked fairly decent, but Mt. Vernon kept missing some very easy shots. Player #3 on Mt. Vernon had multiple chances and could have had 20-30 points if she actually made some of her put-backs and lay-ups.
I ended up staying to watch two powerhouse teams play against each other one of them being the Highly Ranked Neptune team from New Jersey. I must admit that I have been tough on Ms. Chong for all the shots she takes in a game, but after watching three games in a row I have to say that not one of those teams had a player score with the ease I have seen Ms. Chong score. I spoke to the Mr. Glenn who runs the Tournament and he stated that he would love more Westchester teams involved next year. I think its a great oppurtunity for our girls to get some looks at from many different schools.
was at the tournament as well…there are only a small handful of Westchester teams that could compete well in that tourney, and yes it would be nice to see them. Chong is without a doubt the real deal – noone truthfully comes close to her overall skill and ability – she is fun to watch and will be fun to watch in college…she certainly doesn’t need any stats padding.
no way Monroe Woodbury ahead of Ossining or Carmel…have seen all three play and not even close!!Carmel should be up around 11,Ossining around 13 and MW at 18
Ossining and Carmel could be even higher up. I watched Mary Louis-CHSAA (currently ranked 7th in Class AA) and I know Ossining and Carmel would beat that team easily.
