Because the NYSPHSAA web site was incorrect, we passed along some bad info earlier, and in some editions of The Journal News today … and hopefully somebody will get it straightened out with Irvington coach Gina Maher, because she was also under the impression that the Bulldogs would get a bye in the Federation Class B tournament next weekend.
The NYSPHSAA site had a Federation schedule that included the PHSAA champ (Irvington) already in the final, and the lone semifinal Friday, between St. Mary’s of Lancaster and Long Island Lutheran—two teams the Bulldogs beat en route to their Federation title last year.
Turns out, Irvington will play the winner of the PSAL, either Scholars Academy or Bedford Academy Friday at 10 a.m. at Times Union Center in Albany. The winner of that semi will face St. Mary’s or LI Lutheran Saturday morning.
Sorry for the confusion.
