Saniya Chong (31 combined points), Alexis Martins (28), Maeve Parahus (25) and Maia Hood (23) all had two good games as Hudson Valley swept back-to-back games at the BCANY Summer Hoops Festival.
Hudson Valley beat Long Island 80-56 in the first game and Buffalo 70-53 in the second game.
Chong led the team in scoring both times, with 16 and 15 points. Parahus also had 16 points in the first game.
“My shots were just falling,” Parahus said.
Martins had 14 in both games and Hood added 13 in both games.
Hudson Valley will play Central Sunday at 1:30 p.m. for the championship. Central features 6-foot-3 Breanna Stewart, a UConn signee.

seems like the girls are playing a nice, balanced, team game. The blog is awfully quiet. Anyone have anything nice to say? How about that guy who’s daughter got cut? Buehler?
I would love to watch this game Chong and company against the #1 rated player in the country Stewart. I hope we get some color on all the players, especially these two.
Lets keep up the bball domination by the Hudson Valley team!
Good luck girls and coach Ricci!!
Good Luck HUdson Valley Go after it and win gold
Come on now chong and company be real without her company she done against a decent team. That’s why her coach avoids good teams in aau.We all know what happen down south.

Maybe next time he’ll only run up the score by 74
You’re a loser and a disgrace to your kid. Remember, athletics is 90% genetic.
hsbbfan That is about the most ridiculous statement I have read on this site( and I fell into the response), I guess you can trace the talent back. You people/persons are out of your minds. The sad part is that once you move on there is always someone to fill in for you.
The girls’ final brought together two of the premier high school players in New York_ Cicero-North Syracuse senior do-it-all Breanna Stewart of the Central Region and Ossining junior guard Saniya Chong of Hudson Valley.
Central built a substantial first-half lead on the way to a 94-84 win that added another gold medal to that which Stewart accepted the Sunday before in Chile as a member of Team USA’s entrant in the U19 World Championships.
And a tip of the cap to Stewart for not only fulfilling her commitment to Central in this event, but doing so with no downgrade in effort_ or results. Her tourney-high 35 points Sunday brought her four-game total to 120.
For stretches of the final, she was asked to man the point against a Hudson Valley squad that raced 3-0 through pool play on the strength of overwhelming full-court pressure.
“I do that sometimes with my high school team. I’m comfortable with the ball,” said Stewart, a UConn-bound wiz acknowledged by some as the nation’s top female in the Class of 2012.
Chong, clearly targeted by Central’s zone defenders, scored 16, leaving teammate Maeve Parahus of Albertus Magnus High to fling in eight 3-point goals in a 27-point outing.
What’s your point?
I have to say I seen more than 2 premier players at this final game.
@Mountie Hoops… You are a joke… Give it all a rest and just leave the blog…
BballFan thank you for the intelligent and concise report. Much better than the ignorance exhibited by the other douce bags on this site.
Did your daughter get any run? What happen to pong? Was she on vacation?
She gave up being on the team due to the fact she couldn’t make the practices as she was at a shooting camp at a college she’s interested in attending.
@basketbal1….WTF are you talking about?
