Despite a three-point barrage by Albertus’ Maeve Parahus, Hudson Valley lost the BCANY championship game 93-84 to Central. Parahus made nine 3-pointers to account for 27 of her 29 points.
I can’t remember seeing a local girl make nine 3s in any game, much less an all-star affair like this.
“We got down early, but we made a nice run in the beginning of the second half,” Hudson Valley coach Dan Ricci said. “It was a great experience for everybody. It was a very high level of basketball.”
Central won because of 6-foot-3 Breanna Stewart, ranked by some as the top recruit in the country. (Naturally she’s headed to UConn.) Not only did she score 35 to up her tournament average to 28.5 points, she also grabbed 22 rebounds, had seven blocks and four assists.
Ricci said that Alexis Martins actually did a great job defending her, which tells you something about how great she is.
Martins finished with 18 points. Saniya Chong added 16 points.

You got game Maeve!your my MVP
Alexis Martins is a high level player. What schools are looking at her? Is she a mid major player or can she play at the top level. Has she received any offers. She would be a perfect fit at Marist.
How about saniya chong.
Saniya had a good article written about her in the New York Post / the reporter Came to an hoopers aau practice and wrote about her trials and tribulations. I believe in the article it said Va Tech, and Ohio were interested( offered? ) and know that Providence was also interested..just ask the head of her aau team the Hoopers ,Bryan will tell you
WE all know about Saniya I was asking about Martins. How about Lai whos looking at her? They are both high level players. Both were first team all- state claas B
Mountie Hoops The article you were referring to. Thanks.

Martin is being looked at(From what I seen) by Marist, St. Peters, Davidson, Layfayette.. Lai(From what I seen also) is getting some of the same looks as well as Seton Hall, St. Johns.. Saniya, (And these are facts) St. Johns, Louisville, Ohio State, Marist, Providence, Maryland, Boston College) As far as Lai and Martins, those were the schools that consistently were at their games on the road, but when they beat “Boo” both their stocks went up…
Lai and Martins proved on the road they are high level talents and can play some “Big Time” college basketball.. Keep up the great work..
@Just wondering the reason I didn’t mention Martins wad besides seeing her a few times wasn’t aware who was following her…good tough player though
Eggplantparm and meatball pram where you guys been? Need some laughs..come on with your quirky comebacks..tell me how much of a loser I am…come on guys
@ mountie + they don’t have to tell you…..you are provoking at the expense of HS Girls… like I said in a previous blog you guys are out of you minds….freaks.
Hey what game where you watching, Central was far more than just Stewart, player to player Central had more talent. Nice to be able to go 10 deep. From what I saw, the hot shooting of Martins made it a closer game, otherwise it is a 30 point blow out. Chong and Martins are top notch players. Central was just the better team last Sunday. Better coached as well. They built a 20 lead by running on us. just the facts….
martins as good as chong what game you watching.”Stewart” slap martins all over the floor and more.So get your facts straight.Video shows the real deal I will post it.
Correction-Hot shooting Parahus Not Martins
Now we know that Hudson, Mball and LUCK are all the same person
Mball=Martins ball Wink! Wink!M
Parahus was who I meant, my bad… She is a great player. The fact folks is the best team won. Stewart is the reL deal, but Central expanded the lead in ten first half witness her on the bench in foul trouble. Love HV team but in the final they were out matched.
@Looky Her I see OJ, (interesting name LOL) I’m Luck!!! Not anyone else.. I actually didn’t go to the games I was at 5star camp.. Stewart is one of the top 3players in the country along with Moriah Jefferson, and Alexis Jones… I played against all 3of them this Summer and we don’t have talent like that in our area because our girls don’t eat, sleep, think, or drink basketball!!!! We do have some potential tho… I can’t wait till one of our 845,914 girls step up to that National Elite Level… It would be great for the area…
Odds are 99.9 percent that “Mball” has to be a member of “The Martins”family.
Luck when did you play against the Philly Bells and DFW . How did you play against Alexis Jones she played on the USA under 19 team all summer as did Stewart…hate to nitpick just want to get facts straight
Gotta love dis fella that says “he played against” dis one and tat one. Whats you be talkin about? Throwing names around like you know them personally, come on now.
You didn’t play nothing. The players play.
any news on teams with new coaches?!
BCliff has given the thier head coach job to Kristi Dini.
nice choice dini is a great person those girls are very lucky
@FYE I agree!!
@Looky her and Justwondering… I coached(Since ur into semantics)against both those players at the All Ohio tournament… I don’t know If u have nieces who’ve played against them but one thing I dont have to do is name drop LOL!!!! This was my schedule this year: Boo Williams, All Ohio, Gym Rat, Hershey, Super 64(Texas), Run 4the Roses, Battle of the Boro, and DC National… (We played against DFW, FBC, West Coast Premiere, Tennesse Flight, Cy Fair Elite, Carolina 76’s, Georgia Metros, and a host of others… Go through this list and find out how many top 50players on this list… I took Nicole Oliver, Carey Berry, Troi Nolan, Erika Richards, on most of this trip… Kaitlyn wood, Jasmine Robinson, Maia Hood ended the trip in DC… Great Summer and experience for all the Ladies!!!! Shoutout to them!!!!!
@ justwondering was your daughter left out in the cold. Stop hating…..... Coach Luck The Real Deal…..............................................
Like larry david would say ” Pretty good pretty good” No my daughter had a great summer 2 offers and several schools very interested. She’s in the gym now working out. But I don’t come on this site to talk about my daughter. I like talking about all the other great players in Section1. I’m also hearing we’ll be getting verbals from girls going to 2 schools in the Ivy’s pretty soon
What program is your daughter with
A top travel program in the tri-state area.
Is this site about girls hoops or is it just for egomaniac fathers?
Top travel keep dreaming
@Justwondering… Ok you like Larry David so now you have become cool with me LOL!!!!
thanks gaucho dad
Tony what Ivy’s your daughter going to attend next year?Justwondering
just wondering is not tony…it is a dad from rockland just so ya know
You guys are funny. Clever and funny. Lets talk basketball instead of who’s who.
Let’s talk Tony which ivy will be the lucky one to get your daughter.Come on now she a great kid and earn her spot.
Asia Jackson and arguably the best player in Section 1, Class A 2010-11 State MVP, and yet nobody ever mentions her or prepares to stop her. Its mindboggling to me as a fan. From what I understand, She is making her verbal commitment to Hofstra in the upcoming weeks.
Why didn’t Asia Jackson play on this Hudson Valley team?
MAYBE SHE TO GOOD.WHAT YOU THINK QuietAsKept?
This article was really good. I look forward to reading another one.
