So, when is Lubirdia Gordon going to realize she’s the best player in section 1?
As soon as Saniya and a couple of Irvington’s players quit and join their schools’ respective marching bands instead.
Go to youtube and type in Chong 54 points vs Malloy and see the best player in the section.
Section 1’s junior class can field a pretty strong 5. Chong at point, Gordon (center), Martins (Power Fwd), Hood at small forward and Parahus as a tall shooting guard. You’d have a pretty good bench too.
I heard Chong is old enough (18) to be a college freshman. Maybe we should kind of leave her out of that junior class all-star team. I think she will have a great college career in the right conference (remember Postell,Jarosz). She will not be close to a superstar in the Big East, ACC, Big Ten, Sec or a major conference like that. She may get offers at some schools from those conferences but don’t expect much after that. Please forget the #’s she is putting up. I saw her play many times, and she can be an impact player and have fun and be sucessfull in the CAA, A-10, MAAC, (Mid-Major). THE END.
The NY city reporters that saw her against Malloy said that she was one the best players they have seen, and they have seen great ones. Let the recruiters determine where she can play while you can be hater watching her from the stands.
FYI, Molloy, not Malloy
Despite more birth certificate speculation than Danny Almonte and Obama combined, Saniya is a junior. Its a fab five.
Hey “Fan”, Saniya is legit. The other two you mentioned are indeed frauds.
I heard Ossining won by 35 today in Orlando after being down after 1.
Ossining won by 40 and Chong had 30 points to go with 12 Assists. Being held back from 3rd Grade or whatever isn’t really a big deal. Almost every school, Female or Male might have a kid that was left back at some point pre-High School.
Bottom line, is Saniya is a beast. The fact that she’s a JR impresses me even more. If I have a daughter one day, I only hope she can be the athlete Ms. Chong is.
Get Real,
Marist is the best team in the MAAC and they have been to multiple Sweet 16’s and have taken down nationally ranked competition. Even is she does go low d1 or mid major (it’ll be a great fit for her) she’ll be a great addition. She’d fit in well at Marist (Coach Giorgis this is a talent you cant let slip away)
Get Real,
Your are Real dumb!
Gals Hoops- You sound very smart and educated. OK you win Chong will be at Rutgers or Tennessee or Uncomm or Nd or Balor or Texas or Unc. I apologize. You’re right.
Heron- I agree. Marist would be great. Teams like Temple, Hofsta, St. Bon.. VCU, James Madison, Delaware, Dayton, URI, St. Joes, LaSalle, and Fordham would be great also. She will be a 3-4 year starter and an impact player at those schools.
Who did Ossining play?
not sure who Ossining played, it was a team from PA, Ossining won 86-48
Why is everyone speculating about Chong’s future at the college level? How about simply enjoying arguably the best high school player in Section One’s history. Let’s let the college scouts and coaches make their inevitable offers while allowing Saniya and her family to make the decisions which appear to be in her best interests.
Enjoy it now chong family. After high school the party over.People will be saying chong who? So enjoy your run and bring home that gold ball… GO. OOOOO You go Danny aka Heron!!
Chong is the best player in section 1…it is NO contest! There is no comparing her to Jarosz or Postell she’s light years better than either one of them. She is a COMPLETE player..can play any position on the court and score at will. She has open shots and gives them up for better shots inside. Her passing is off the charts.
Man some people are so petty and jealous. Who cares what level D1 she plays at she gets a free education. I’m sure she will go to a great school, play a sport she obviously loves. If your over 18 making these comments you need to get a grip.
Stephane you sound like a 5 yr old.OMG. My ice cream cone is bigger and better than yours . You idiot!!
SAM,
Knock it off. Be civil. Steph is being passionate about the Ossining womens basketball team.
I haven’t seen everyone play but if there’s a better all around player in the section, then Chong, so be it.
Get Real,
I apologize for calling you dumb, when in fact you are a moron!
Why is it when someone is so talented and hard working people find it necessary to try to knock them down? Is it because their lives are void of any success???
How about we just wait and see and wish all the players well…
Gals Hoops- I guess you don’t understand my comments. I know she is a great player but it’s my opinion that she might not have an awesome career at one of those Huge ACC or SEC schools. Your name calling (for no apparent reason) shows everyone that you have a problem. I’m sorry you have a problem. Please respond like a mature educateded person.
Does anyone have information on the New Rochelle vs. Ursuline game?
Get Real,
No, I do understand your comments…you want to say she is a good player, but not good enough…are you a recruiter for a college team? Her future success will have many variables, like who is on her team.
Your taking shots at a student athlete and making excuses for her success. Saying that she is 18??? So whats the difference? If you knew anything about College Athletics you would realize many students are red-shirted, have done a prep year or were retained at an early age.
If you followed Westchester Sports you would know that there have been a littany of players that had a slight age adavantage, girls and boys.
Why are you so jealous anyway?
Gal Hoops- No one is jealous here, only realistic. I couldn’t care if she went to Uconn or Westchester Comm Col. to play ball. All I’m saying is that in my OPINION she would have a more sucessful career not playing on a top 50 school. I guess her ppg is higher than your IQ.
I’m done with you. I will give you one last insult since you seem so low class. You WIN!
Get Real,
You are right. A lot of young women and men in our area think it’s a failure to not wind up at a UConn or Tennessee. Think about how many young women play hoops in this country and the world now for that matter. Even making a D3 roster is quite the accomplishment. If she went low D1 that is no harm, no foul. Still a free education and she wont get buried on the bench at a large school which happens often.
The young lady from Lakeland who went to Vandy learned this and is at Marist now with a chance to resume her career next season. No matter where you end up, it’s all good as long as you’re happy!
Gold Ball,
No idea who Danny is but it’s cool. I’m actually a Lady Pioneer fan.
Get Real,
Your on a blog making negative comments about a young female athlete who is playing high school basketball… “I heard Chong is old enough (18) to be a college freshman. Maybe we should kind of leave her out of that junior class all-star team. I think she will have a great college career in the right conference (remember Postell,Jarosz). She will not be close to a superstar in the Big East, ACC, Big Ten, Sec” then when somoone recognizes you for jealous moronic comments, you call them low class??? too funny!
Bottom line is she is currently one of the best players in Section 1, and thats before her senior year…when she is succeeding at the next level I guess you’ll say she wont make the WNBA…lol
Your “blog snot” plain and simple and probably never played anything.
get real…...Let me get this straight….Chong is actually a 28 year old who defected from a professional team in the China and Coach Ricci smuggled into the US from Canada with the help of TheChief of the St RegisMohawks
just so O’Town could win another GOLD BALL.
Now I understand.
And I thought the holiday season hadn’t ended as yet.
