Ossining better hurry up and win the states in the next two years because the state is considering eliminating all state tournaments in 2013-14.
Section 11 complained about travel and cost.

Doubt section 11 is the wealthiest…more like section one would be. With all the great arenas in the Metropolitan area hard to understand why Troy is always the selection. Nassau Coliseum, New arena in Brooklyn coming soon, heaven forbid Westchester County Center, (cause nobody is allowed to cheer there) Army gym and I am sure there are others that sure would be big enough. If section 11 doesn’t want to travel so be it…maybe the kids should think about fund raising like other programs do. Ossining doesn’t travel to Disney on the districts arm. Let the games begin….please if you are not going to the games no comments on the game itself please.
I’m hoping OSS wins the state title but the big question is “who is guarding Stewart?” No one can stop her. Very simple. No one on Oss. can stop her. Even with Chong scoring 40, I see problems on D for Oss. My heart is with Oss. but my wallet is with Ciecero. Sorry.
Irvington and Ossining are scrimmaging each other as we speak apparently
yes Ossining scrimmaged Irvington this afternoon. I watched Breanna and her team on youtube and I have to say that Ossining can beat them with their speed. Cicero does not move like Ossining.Breanna is impressive however she is not fast and doesnt score like Saniya. I compared the top 8 on each team and on paper, Ossining dominates player to player. If Ossining sets the pace, if Jalay can handle Breanna and the Ossining 3 pointers sink, Ossining will be hard to beat.
bbf stewart is the player in the country. Oss will get no points inside, better hit 3s. Oss will have to put two girls on her, maybe that wont be enough. With stewart in the paint this will allow cicero to put two girls on chong. Maybe they wont stop chong but i like a great big player over a great smaller player anyday.
Section 8 and 11, both on long island, don’t participate in the football state playoffs either because of cost. Just leave them out of the playoffs in all sports..bunch of babies. Is it going to break the school/section budget to send 4 teams from each section to state playoffs… raise the school fee $200 per school paid to section and it will be covered, just another way that school adminstration tries t o minimize the importance of athletics/extra-cirruluar activities in student life..

A few months ago the blogs were saying Irvington would beat Ossining due to the size advantage of Martins- they figured out how to cover her- watch them play, cicero is slow, stewart misses a lot of shots- Watch Saniya vs Malloy-this is the kind of game she brings versus “better” teams

I agree Fantastic. It was just last week that several on herecsad that an undefeated team of seniors, with much more size, from Binghamton would be too much for Ossining. Stewart is great but does she have enough support? She’s gonna get hers but if if Oss can slow her down and stop her teamates they should be fine. We will soon find out.
I agree with BBF, Ossining has the talent to win it all, Stewart may be the best player currently, but Ossining has tons of talent througout the team with Saniya leading the way anything is possible, Let’s Go O !

Coach Ricci will sandwich Stewart—Knowles will play behind her; Walker in front because of her athleticism. Put pressure on the ball and Stewart won’t get many touches—she’ll have to score primarily off second-chance baskets—and you can’t score 40 that way. Of course, I’m blowin’ PRIDE smoke here—I’ve never seen Cicero or Stewart play, but … YA GOTTA BELIEVE!
Let not act like cicero is unbeatable because of Stewart. She is a great player and could win this game by herself (she is that good) but Ossining has better players overall. Press and wear them down. They have a legit shot. They did lose to a 15-14 Christ the King team.
Also Binghampton had a very good team. I was at the game and they had talented size and the pg was quick and very good. That was a good win, especially beating them by double digits.
Stewart is the real deal but they have to get her the ball. Coach Ricci will have his weapons primed and ready. If Ossining starts hitting 3s like they did vs Molloy, Irvington and JJCR it will be time to turn out the lights on C-NS. LET’S GO O!!!!
young but mature Ossining is – unnerved by the big lights also – Ossining plays 8-9 deep without loosing much on the court – the run – they are quick – give Stewart her 40 – 50 points – where will they get another 40 – don’t see it – there is a reason these young ladys are
