We were scheduled to do a live chat today, but due to technical difficulties at the Times Union Center in Albany, there were some issues getting on the internet and maintaining a strong-enough connection.
Irvington defeated Cardinal O’Hara in the Federation semifinals with a 74-57 win on Friday.
Lexi Martins led the way for the Bulldogs with a very strong third quarter performance, where she accounted for the team’s first 11 points to start the second half. She would score 14 points in the third quarter and finish the game with a game-high 24 points.
Martins was once again a force on the glass, securing a game-high 16 rebounds. She also had four blocks.
But she didn’t do it alone.
Brittni Lai scored 21 points, nine steals, and seven assists and Marley Giddins contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
It wasn’t Irvington’s best shooting effort of the year, but somehow the Bulldogs still managed to score 74 points.
Leah McDonnell led the Hawks with 19 points and Aaron Shabazz had 13 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.
The win for the Bulldogs sets up what should be an exciting rematch from last year’s Federation finals loss to Long Island Lutheran. The game is set to tip-off Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Rob,
I certainly hope you can fix your Internet problems by tomorrow. The Buffalo paper certainly was able to provide the live chat seemingly without any problems.
Rob, if there’s wi-fi issues, depending on what type of phone and carrier you have you can always tether 3G or 4G LTE from your phone to your computer to have internet.
Great Coverage Rob.. Thanks for your time.
