Initially, there was some confusion as to the specific groupings for the Section 1 girls hoops conferences and leagues. Thanks to the Section 1 coordinators, I was able to secure the list. Here it is….
Conference 1


  • LEAGUE A: JJEF, Arlington, Ketcham, Lourdes, Poughkeepsie, Beacon

  • LEAGUE B: Brewster, Carmel, JJCR, Mahopac, Somers

  • LEAGUE C: Hen Hud, Lakeland, Panas, Peekskill, Putnam Valley, Yorktown

  • LEAGUE D: North Salem, JFK, Pawling, Haldane


Conference 2

  • LEAGUE A: Ursuline, Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Scarsdale, Mamaroneck, White Plains

  • LEAGUE B: Saunders, Gorton, Riverside, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Yonkers

  • LEAGUE C: Irvington, Dobbs Ferry, Ursuline B, Ardsley, Woodlands

  • LEAGUE D: Pelham, Eastchester, Hastings, Edgemont, Bronxville, Sleepy Hollow

  • LEAGUE E: Tuckahoe, Solomon Schechter, Yonkers Montessori, Palisades Prep


Conference 3

  • LEAGUE A: Rye Neck, Keio, Valhalla, Port Chester

  • LEAGUE B: Ossining, Hamilton, Blind Brook, Greeley, Rye, Harrison

  • LEAGUE C: Briarcliff, Fox Lane, Croton, Byram Hills, Pleasantville, Westlake


Conference 4

  • LEAGUE A: North Rockland, Clarkstown South, Clarkstown North, Ramapo/Spring Valley, Suffern

  • LEAGUE B: Nanuet, Nyack, Pearl River, Tappan Zee


Here is the information for the North Rockland tournament, officially titled the ‘Coach Rick Korn Holiday Tournament.’

Dec 27 – 5 p.m.
Nyack vs. Mount Vernon
Newburgh vs. North Rockland, 7 p.m.

Dec. 28
Consolation, 5 p.m.
Championship, 7 p.m.

Since when is North Rockland in league B?? In rockland it was always big schools(enrolment) cl south.cl north,suffern,NR then small schools SV,AM,Pr,nanuet,nyack. What kind of fastone is metcalf/Cassarella pulling jk(if you check the section 1schedule. Nr plays south/north/er/suffern twice so they are league A. Check it out Mr Editor
