To our readers, Happy New Year! – Thanks for reading and have a safe and healthy start to 2013.
A big story from today is the huge mark that Section 1 teams have made in the NYSSWA’s first edition of the girls hoops rankings. Ossining, Irvington and Alexander Hamilton have all been ranked number one in their respective classes. Several other Section 1 teams are listed too – check out the link for more.

Ossining is home against Christ The King on Friday (01/04) at 4:30. Most of their home games have started early this season so prob more like 4:15
Thanks Colonial. Very helpful for those of us who have to travel a bit to be there.
Congrats to all them Dutchess teams in that poll. Some good basketball being played up here in Dutchess. Beacon is #14 in A and has only one senior on the team that has yet to play because of a knee injury. John Jay is 12, Lourdes is 14 and Arlington 22 in AA. Unfortunately it looks like they will all be battling for second come sectionals. That is one hell of a league though
