Now that the stench that is “midterm week” has finally cleared the air, we are back to a full schedule of games Thursday. With the massive slate, both Phil Terrigno and I will both be on the road providing you live coverage from two local games.
Phil will swinging by the Dobbs Ferry at Ardsley contest, as we’ll get our first look at a Dobbs team that has been making a lot of noise this season. Ardsley has been catching a fire in recent weeks, so this should be a fun one to watch. Phil will be live tweeting from the game, so make sure you follow him at @PhilTerrigno for updates.
As for me, I will be making my third trip to the Pirates Cove this month, this time checking out the Albertus Magnus at Pearl River game. These two played each other very close in their previous meeting, with Pearl River winning 60-54. The Falcons have been plagued by injuries this season, but should be at relatively full strength Thursday, as both senior guard Maeve Parahus and junior point guard Ryan Doherty (pictured below) are expected to be in the lineup. Parahus suffered a sprained ankle earlier in the season, and Doherty is coming off a mild concussion she suffered two weeks ago. I haven’t seen the Falcons since the very beginning of the season, so I’m excited to see coach Pat Buckley’s team in action again. I will also be live tweeting from my game, as well as re-tweeting whatever I see from Phil’s feed or other outlets around the league. You can follow me at @Zacchio_LoHud for updates.
It’s hard to believe that we are now officially less than two weeks away from the start of the 2013 Section 1 tournament, which begins Wednesday, February 13. The official seeds will be released on Monday, February 11 around noon, so we’ll let you know as soon as we have them. Let the countdown begin!
