How does #1 play #2 in the opening round? That doesn’t make sense to me. Does Oss/Lourdes have a bye for opening round? That confuses me.
The #1 and #2 seeds have a bye in the first round as I indicated. They will each play a winner of the outbracket games.
Nevermind, I had to read that a bunch of times to understand that. Mike or Phil, you should delete the Oss and Lourdes from opening round if they both have a bye. No need for them to be there. You should just put a separate category for teams with bye or something.
Ok I got you, then wouldn’t it make more sense to put who they play the winner of instead of just saying Ossining & Lourdes – bye
I BELIEVE CLASS C OPENING ROUND IS THE QUARTER FINALS SINCE THERE ARE ONLY 7 TEAMS. WHICH WOULD BE FEB 19,20
Certainly possible – i’ll follow up.
Best opening round game will be Panas / Brewster
Bucketboy is correct. Class C doesn’t have out bracket games.
Phil
Year before last we had a contest to see who could beat you experts picking games on the blog. Can you guys handle the challenge??
Ossining and Lourdes don’t have a bye. They play the outbracket winners in round 1.
If you’re up for the challenge, so are we. Go for it! We will post our “expert” picks soon.
I still don’t think that is right….
The Suffern winner should play at Lourdes … ie 15v2
The Yorktown winner should play at Ossining … ie 16v1
Class AA opening round seeding:
Shouldn’t the winner of #18 Clarkstown North/#15 Suffern play the #2 seed Lourdes and the winner of #17 Mamaroneck/Yorktown play the #1 seed Ossining?
You’re right, all of these match ups are just mushing the brain a little bit.
Thank you Mike & Phil for all of your hard work, dedication, long hours, mileage, blogs, tweets, time and professionalism. Your coverage of the girl’s hoop side has been terrific after several very weak years. Trying to cover every team at least once was ambitious but the result is that you brought some light to many teams that never see a lick of coverage. Good stuff!
However, I save my biggest kudos for your strict discipline of this blog. This blog had degraded into a cesspool of unregulated, anonymous sniping and you guys turned it around. The sad, the strange and the cowardly had no where to go when you took away their sick playground.
Now there seems to be much less traffic—which is odd—because you’ve turned it into a more hoop-centric, positive place to comment. But I’m sure it will find it’s stride.
Keep up the good work gentlemen and onward to the playoffs. Good luck ladies!
@ Thank You Guys (plus Phil and Mike) Although I initially objected to the long wait for moderation time, I think you nailed it. Well stated Thank You Guys and very well done Phil and Mike!
