One look at today’s schedule and you’ll see that Class AA will have some decent talent on hand.
Mamaroneck-Ursuline should be competitive, as should New Rochelle-Scarsdale. The Koalas have been riding quite the hot streak, and are undefeated against Class AA opponents this year. Playing at home on Friday, I don’t expect that to change. The Huguenots could really use a solid win to lift their spirits, while the Raiders could use an even bigger win even more.
Looking around the section, Woodlands-Dobbs Ferry could go one of two ways. The Falcons went toe-to-toe with Irvington, falling by one point, after some first-half struggles. Dobbs Ferry has been battling nagging injuries all season, but with Bridget Sheridan back in the lineup and Alyssa Chipelo healing from a leg injury each game, the Eagles should only continue to improve as we move towards playoff time.
The other real interesting match is Keio-Hamilton, a rematch of last year’s Section 1 Class C final. The state-ranked Unicorns are in a tailspin after falling to Rye Neck and Port Chester, while Hamilton is jelling together after a very rocky start to the season.
