Well, I think we all knew that this was eventually going to happen.
After a perfect 16-0 start to its season, Clarskstown South has cracked the top 10 of the New York State Sportswriters Association Class AA rankings, three spots behind Ossining (14-2), the top-ranked public school in the state.
Lourdes (14-3) checked in as the only other Class AA ranked team, grabbing No. 21 overall.
Reigning Class A section champs Peekskill remained unranked since being bumped from the rankings last week. Beacon (15-2, No. 14) and Albertus Magnus (13-4, No. 21) are the only Section 1 teams ranked by the state, although it’s clear that the Class A section title is up in the air.
Irvington (14-2) remained the No. 1 team in Class B, but the four-time reigning state champs will likely be knocked out of the top spot after losing to class foe Dobbs Ferry on Tuesday.
